So, you’re in Japan. But unfortunately you’re not that into traditional Japanese food.. Searching for place to eat something a bit modern, or maybe some steak, but can’t find a price friendly restaurant?

Why not try Big Boy Restaurant? 😀

Big Boy Restaurant, is one of a family restaurant chain in Japan, focusing on mainly steak and meat menu. Differ with the normal restaurant, price in family restaurant usually are more reasonable. 😀 With a lot of franchise all over Japan, Big Boy rather easy to found. 🙂

For example, in Kyoto there are 4 chain of Big Boy Restaurant. This one is Big Boy Uji chain, located near Rokujizou Station on Kyoto Subway Touzai Line.

The inside interior was a bit old American cowboy-ish style. 😀 But it’s still comfortable. (And in some way reminds me of American’s Restaurant Sizzler or American Grill :D)

You might feel a bit worried. How would the steak looks like for a low price. 😦 Well.. This one is 150 gr Angus Sirloin Steak for 1,680 yen (around 1,800 yen after tax). Still feeling that it’s pricey?

But wait a minute! That’s a price for Steak Set :D. And what did you get besides your steak? All you can eat salad, all you can eat soup, and all you can eat rice + Japanese Kare. If you say that’s pricey, I say that’s worth it.

What if you only want to eat steak without salad and the others? There’s always an a la carte (or tanpin単品 in Japanese) option (for this menu the price is 1,190 yen with additional 8% tax).

And what about drink? In Japanese restaurant, cold water usually are compliments. So you can drink water for free. But if you want something with taste, you can always add 180 yen (or around 194 yen after tax) for all you can drink menu. 😀 From Hot Black Coffee to Ice Cafe Mocca or from Hot Tea to Ice Matcha Latte, you name it. 😉 Normal soft drinks like Coke and such are also available. 🙂
